When work (or pleasure) calls you away from your every day routine, don't allow your workout to fall off of your schedule. Always make it a priority to pack the essentials for a good workout every single day even if it means packing one less pair of shoes... Besides, most hotels have a gym so there's no excuse!
Here's what I make a priority to pack for every trip...
- My workout - If your workout of choice is a DVD, make sure you bring a laptop or DVD player. If you have a choice, always choose a room with a king size bed as they generally have more floor space once you move around some other furniture.
- Pre-workout & protein - Sometimes you need that little boost of energy after a long day in the office so don't forget your pre-workout if you take one. It is also important to provide your body with the nutrients it needs to replenish after a strenuous workout. I always pack a shaker bottle and individually portioned protein to make things easier.
- Gym attire - Of course don't forget your tennis shoes (or sneakers depending on where you're from...) and some gym clothes. I even make more room by only packing shorts and a sports bra - just the bare minimum.
So here's to staying fit and healthy no matter where you are!
(And in case you're wondering, today I'm in Mississippi.)
