Mind over matter

During sweater season, I find it much more difficult to find the motivation to get in the gym than bikini season (although it was 60+ degrees here today..)  I generally want to snuggle up on the couch after a long day with a nice bowl of chili instead of changing into gym attire and getting to work.
 
This time of year it is all about mind over matter, about convincing yourself that the gym is worth the effort even if you're the only one who gets to see the results of your labor. Trick yourself into getting in the gym by any means necessary. 
 
My trick right now is switching from 'month two' Insanity workouts to the shorter 'month one' Insanity workouts.  It seems rather simple but the 40 minutes seems like less of a commitment than the 60 minutes and makes it easier for me to get to work even though I have other things on my mind. The results may not be as good but they're certainly better than the bowl of chili on the couch method.
 
 
But I'll tell you what the best trick of all is.. a loooong, stressful day at work. If that doesn't convince me to get in the gym, nothing else will.
