Turkey trot

Every Thanksgiving I'm always surprised to see how many people participate in organized Thanksgiving day runs. It's generally people that I didn't even know worked out but all the same, I'm happy to see people getting up and getting moving.

When I woke up this morning I was already ready to go for a turkey day run before I stuff my face later today. I got up and got dressed and didn't even bother to take a pre-workout. If I haven't told you enough times before, I am NOT a morning workout kind of person.

So at 8:30 this morning I was suited up and ready to hit the icy road for a quick run. I woke up Chris and told him I was going to go run and he said "you are crazy." (Did I mention it was 22 degrees when I woke up??) My response to him was, "you created this monster" and I hit the road running.

I generally struggle to run in the cold air because you just can't breathe as easily but this morning I was pleasantly surprised to see that I not only kept my usual pace but exceeded my average time by thirty seconds per mile! :) What a way to start a day of Thanksgiving.

Indulge a little today but don't forget that the more you indulge, the harder you have to work to get rid of it.

Today's workout: 4 mile run
