Finding what works for you

When I first moved to my little town a little over 2 years ago, I visited the local YMCA in hopes of joining and was highly disappointed when the tour of the entire facility lasted about two minutes, especially when the price tag was similar to the large YMCA that I had grown accustomed to.

Once the shock wore off, I focused my energy on finding a new at-home workout with a smaller price tag.  After the YMCA visit, I did Beach Body's P90X on-and-off for about a year.  When I was on my latest P90X-kick last summer, my boyfriend Chris ordered Beach Body's INSANITY.  I thought he was just that - insane - but I tried it with him (very unsuccessfully, I might add) a few times.

Earlier this year, when I decided to re-focus my life on my health and happiness, I decided to try Insanity again.  With a new attitude, I have been doing Insanity workouts for over 4 months now, 4-6 days a week.  I have never stuck to a workout consistently for such an extended period of time.  The man below is Shaun T.  I think he might really be insane but he has gotten me in to the best shape of my life.  It's amazing how much you can love and hate someone that you've never really met...

While Insanity is an incredible workout for me, I would not recommend it for everyone.  The convenience of a workout that requires no equipment, a relatively small amount of space, and is easy to travel with are what is important to me.

As gym memberships and at-home workouts can be incredibly expensive, I encourage you to determine what "conveniences" are important for you that will allow you to dedicate yourself consistently before deciding which gym or at-home fitness regime to invest in.

Join me tomorrow to learn more about how I've stuck with it..
