Amsterdam that was fun

After my long work week in Germany, I spent a much needed girls weekend in Amsterdam with my bestie Anna.

Amsterdam has a very interesting reputation but it is actually a very beautiful place if you can get past the smell of the "coffee" shops.  Between the canal, the flowers, the bikes, and the houses, this picture pretty much sums it up perfectly...

Our first day in Amsterdam was jam packed with an eclectic mix of culture.

We started the morning at the Van Gogh museum...

Followed by a visit to the Heineken brewery...

and finished the evening at the Anne Frank house.

We had some sore feet after our long walk around Amsterdam and finished off the night with a bottle of wine and pringles - we may have both been a little home sick....

Amsterdam is also known for it's beautiful flowers.  Fortunately, we caught the tail end of the flower season at the Kukenhoff garden on Sunday.  I never knew there were so many types of tulips.

What an amazing weekend I had with a great friend!  I wonder where we travel next year...
