There is no such thing.
Cooking for one simply means cooking for one week, not one person. Unless you're a boy, you're going to be cooking for more than one day if you live alone. For example, I made a pizza last Wednesday and I still have half of it left. Guess what's for dinner tonight... and probably lunch tomorrow...
I even made a cake last week for my brother's 25th birthday but I took it home to my family so it would be consumed in three days rather than three weeks.
For father's day, I took advantage of having my mom's large kitchen, my neighbor's vegetable garden, and three other people to eat my food! I took on the grill for the first time because grill master Nick was not there to do it for me. We had turkey sausage, red skinned potatoes, and summer squash in this huge packet. My family must like me because they all ate squash even though none of them like it!
So I've been trying to determine how to cook for one by finding multiple ways to use the same ingredients but I'm still working on more solutions. Maybe the simplest one might be to make friends in Virginia to have dinner with but until that happens, please share your ideas for healthy cooking for one.
Dang it! I just got rid of a couple of cookbooks on cooking for one or two! But there are some out there and once you get an idea of the amount of ingredients, you can often scale down larger meals! hugs!
